Common questions
Pricing and Quotes
Money questions come up first, so here is how our pricing actually works.
Do you charge a fee just to come out?
We give you clear, upfront pricing before any work starts, so you know the cost before we begin. There are no hidden charges added to the invoice later. Call us and we will give you clear pricing before we start, with options discussed by your technician on site.
How much does a split system install cost?
It depends on the system size, the wall run and whether it is a straight back-to-back install or a longer pipe run, which is why we quote up front rather than guess over the phone. We assess your Elanora home and give you clear pricing before we start. See our split system page for more.
Do you give clear pricing before we start?
Yes. We give you clear pricing before any work starts so you know exactly what you are up for, with no pressure to proceed on the spot. For a ducted job we will assess the home and size it properly first.
How do I pay, and when?
Payment is due on completion of the job, once you have approved the clear pricing we gave you before we started. We do not offer financing or payment plans, so the price you agree to is the price you pay.
Common questions
Licensing and ARC Certification
This is the trust group, so here is exactly what we hold and what it covers.
Are you ARC-certified?
Yes. We hold ARC Licence #L160535 for refrigerant handling, so your air conditioning is installed and serviced by certified technicians. We are also Accredited Master Electricians under Lic #83326, so the electrical side of the install meets the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000).
Do I need a licensed installer to put in air conditioning?
Yes. In Queensland, handling refrigerant requires ARC certification and the electrical connection must be done by a licensed electrician, so it is not a legal DIY job. A proper install protects your home and keeps the manufacturer warranty valid. See our air conditioning installation page for what is involved.
Is your work insured and guaranteed?
Yes. We are fully licensed, insured and ARC-certified, and every job is backed by a workmanship guarantee. If something is not right after we leave, we come back and sort it properly.
Is it safe to keep running an air conditioner that's playing up?
Not always. Burning smells, water pooling around the unit, tripping breakers or ice building up on the coil are warning signs, not nuisances. Switch it off and call us rather than keep running it. See our not cooling and leaking water pages for what to check first.
Common questions
Emergency and Response Times
Here is how fast we actually turn up when your aircon fails.
How fast can you fix my aircon in a heatwave?
We offer same-day and emergency service across Elanora and the Gold Coast, and we turn up fast when the heat hits, same-day where availability allows. The fastest way to lock in a time is to call us directly. See our air conditioning repairs page for more.
Do you offer same-day service?
Yes, same-day service where availability allows. The earlier in the day you call, the better the odds, especially during a summer heatwave when demand is high. You will get clear pricing before we start either way.
Do you do emergency air conditioning repairs?
Yes. If your system has stopped cooling in the heat, is leaking water, or has thrown an error code, call us and we will get someone out to you. There is no need to sweat it out waiting on a quote.
Common questions
Our Services, Systems and Brands
Here is what is actually involved once you book us in.
Split or ducted - which is better?
A split system suits one room or a single zone and is quicker and cheaper to install, while ducted air conditioning cools the whole home evenly and hides away in the ceiling. It depends on your home and budget, which is why we assess and size it properly first.
How often should I service my air conditioner?
Once a year is the general guide, ideally before summer, so your system is ready when the Gold Coast heat hits. Regular servicing keeps it cooling efficiently, catches small issues early and helps with humidity and mould build-up. See our air conditioning cleaning page.
Do you install Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and Actron?
Yes. We install and service Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and Actron Air, plus other major brands, and we will help you pick the right one for your home and budget.
Do you also replace old air conditioners?
Yes. If your old unit is tired, noisy or costing a fortune to run, we will swap it for an efficient modern system and take the old one away for you. See our air conditioning replacement page for what is involved.
Are you licensed for the electrical side of the install?
Yes, we are Accredited Master Electricians under Lic #83326. Every install's electrical connection is done to the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000), on top of our ARC certification for the refrigerant side of the job.
Common questions
Local to Elanora
Two things Elanora homeowners ask us more than most.
Do you actually service Elanora?
Yes, Elanora and the surrounding southern Gold Coast suburbs, including Palm Beach, Currumbin Waters, Burleigh Heads and Burleigh Waters. One licensed, ARC-certified team covers the whole area, not a call centre passing your job to a stranger.
Does the coastal salt air affect my outdoor unit?
Yes. Elanora sits between the Tallebudgera and Currumbin creek estuaries, and the sea-breeze salt carried up those waterways corrodes outdoor condenser coils and fins faster than inland suburbs. We check for corrosion and protect units for the coastal climate when we service. See our air conditioning cleaning page.
What size air conditioner do I need for an open-plan home?
Sizing matters. Too small and it never keeps up in the heat, too big and it short-cycles. We measure the space, glazing and orientation and size it properly, which matters for the open-plan family homes built across Elanora since The Pines estate opened.
